President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a bilateral meeting on December 25 after the informal CIS summit, BelTA reports.
The meeting of the heads of state of the CIS member states took place at the Igora all-season resort near St. Petersburg. The summit was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin. His country is completing its chairmanship in the Commonwealth this year and is handing over powers to Tajikistan.

Despite the informal status of the summit, the protocol part of the negotiations turned out to be quite lengthy. The leaders of the Commonwealth communicated behind closed doors and without the press. Then they continued their conversation over breakfast. In total, the meeting of the presidents lasted nine and a half hours, as reported by the "Pool of the First" Telegram channel.
"Lukashenko and Putin communicated one-on-one for about an hour and a half! What they discussed is not yet known," the media resource noted.
