Lukashenko and Xi Jinping exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the people of the Republic of Belarus and himself, congratulated Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"In a short period of time by historical standards, we have moved from bilateral interaction to a trusting comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. We are systematically moving to a new stage of "iron brotherhood" and "all-weather partnership," the congratulatory message reads. "These words embody our successes and achievements in politics, economics, humanitarian and military-technical fields, and security."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Minsk and Beijing are consistently expanding interstate dialogue, coordinating goals and objectives on global and regional agendas, including within the framework of the UN, SCO, EAEU, the implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the building of a community of common destiny for mankind, and in many other areas.

"Today, we gratefully recall all those who, at various stages, contributed to the development of relations between Belarus and China, filled them with practical content for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries. I am convinced that the foundation we have laid will become a strong basis for future generations of Belarusians and Chinese who, like us, will sincerely befriend and support each other at all times," the congratulatory message states.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Xi Jinping good health and the achievement of his goals, and the fraternal people of China - peace and prosperity.

A congratulatory message was also received by the President of Belarus from the Chinese leader. "On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus, on behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people, as well as on my own behalf, I send you and, through you, the friendly Belarusian people sincere congratulations and best wishes," it reads.

Xi Jinping stated that over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Belarus relations have been steadily advancing, and the traditional friendship between the two countries has been growing stronger day by day. "Under our joint leadership, China and Belarus have successively established comprehensive strategic partnership relations and relations of trust-based comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. The political mutual trust between the two countries is unbreakable, and bilateral cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results," noted the Chairman of the PRC.

He also emphasized that both sides firmly support each other on issues concerning the core interests of the two countries, and closely and effectively cooperate in international and regional affairs. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, both countries have been helping and supporting each other, overcoming difficulties hand in hand, demonstrating brotherhood with a shared future.

The Chairman of the PRC noted that in recent years, the leaders of the two countries have maintained communication in various ways and have reached important agreements on the development of China-Belarus relations in the new circumstances. "Taking the opportunity of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, I would like to assure you that I am ready to make joint efforts with you to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between China and Belarus and the joint implementation of the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative to achieve even greater results of cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples," he stressed.

Xi Jinping wished Alexander Lukashenko success in his work and good health, friendly Belarus prosperity, and its people happiness and well-being.
