The original Belarusian traditions must become part of modern history. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at the republican festival "Kupalye" ("Alexandria Gathers Friends"), as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "The main thing we have done is to revive the traditions of our ancestors. We are developing the original national culture. You must agree: it is not enough to know and remember these traditions, they must become part of modern history," Alexander Lukashenko is convinced.

"Our children should see how we ourselves cherish what has been created over centuries. They should absorb the idea: everything made with one's own hands – a woven basket, a clay jug, an embroidered rushnyk – is always beautiful, always relevant and fashionable. And folk music is the song of the Slavic soul. This is our song," the President noted.
