The most popular foreign leader among Russians is President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. This was stated in an interview with "Izvestia" by the General Director of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) Valery Fyodorov, according to BELTA.
According to the head of VTsIOM, previously, according to surveys, the sympathies of Russians were divided between the Belarusian leader and the former President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. "Now Nazarbayev has somewhat stepped back. Lukashenko remains on our horizon," noted Valery Fyodorov.
He said that Russians perceive the President of Belarus as a thrifty manager who ensures strict order in his country.
