Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, during a meeting with the Governor of Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast, Aleksey Besprozvannykh, noted the special closeness between Belarus and this Russian region, BELTA correspondent reports.
"Kaliningrad residents are our people. We have always known this. If it were possible to count how many Belarusians are there among Russians and others (but this is impossible, I have never done this in my practice), then the overwhelming majority, probably, would be Belarusians," said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
Aleksey Besprozvannykh, in this regard, noted that in his delegation alone, there are three members of the Kaliningrad Oblast government who were born in Belarus. "Historically, we have lived together as fraternal peoples and will continue to do so," he emphasized.
