Any political innovations must create conditions for the development of sovereign Belarus and the well-being of its citizens.
This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, today at a meeting with the working group on finalizing the draft Constitution, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"I hope that our meeting today will be final. The purpose of today's event is to bring together all the developed proposals, to create the final configuration of the updated Basic Law. To do this in such a way that its provisions represent a single and coherent system," said Alexander Lukashenko.
As BELTA reported, at a previous meeting with the working group, Alexander Lukashenko stated that he had been presented with a new, finalized draft of the Constitution. At that time, the head of state noted that the working group's experts did not support all the proposals of the Constitutional Commission. "It is good that there are different points of view. Probably, any competition, any points of view that have the right to exist, when they clash, contribute to the development of normal provisions for the future Constitution. Only in this way, I believe, will we arrive at a worthy draft of the Basic Law, which, of course, people are already waiting for," the President believes.
