Belarus has begun supplying its goods through Russian ports, and this format of cooperation will be expanded. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with foreign and Belarusian journalists, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The Head of State emphasized that Belarus aims to develop economic cooperation with the Far East. "We will already process and sell fish in Belarus. And all other riches that are there," he said.
The parties are also working on launching joint ventures. "Primorye is very interested in our technologies," the President noted.
"The most important thing for us: we have started working through your ports. The madmen in Lithuania and Latvia have closed their ports to their own detriment, and they are not letting us into Odessa either (the war is going on), although we could have loaded grain there. And through you, we are starting to work from the eastern ports. We want to build a port in Murmansk and reach you via the Northern Sea Route with our goods. Such were the plans, they have begun to be implemented. But this is only the beginning," the Belarusian leader added.
Journalists from the Far East asked the Head of State whether Belarus plans to launch tourist routes to Primorsky Krai and, in particular, its administrative center Vladivostok. The President replied that he had discussed this issue with the Governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako. Corresponding instructions to work through the issue have been given to both governments. Cooperation with the Far East in the field of tourism was also touched upon during negotiations with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko stated.
"It would be of great interest to Belarusians, despite the distance. A very interesting region. We are ready. I think the governments will submit or even adopt specific decisions for us to fly to you, and you to fly to us more. I absolutely support this. The President of Russia supported it. Everything will depend on how quickly the Russian government makes the appropriate decision. We are ready for it instantly," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
