On the bright holiday of Easter, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the Holy Transfiguration Church in Shklov, BelTA reports.

The construction of the Holy Transfiguration Church in Shklov began in the late 18th century by Semyon Zorich, a favourite of Empress Catherine II, and was completed in the second half of the 19th century using funds from Agaphia Sidorova, a deeply religious resident of the city, who is considered the founder of this shrine. The church remained active during the years of atheism and the Great Patriotic War. In 2014, the 150th anniversary of the church's founding was celebrated.
