President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at the opening of the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", presented the Union State Prizes in Literature and Art for 2023-2024 to individuals who have made a significant contribution to strengthening friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The Union State Prizes in Literature and Art for 2023-2024 were awarded in January of this year at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

The prize was awarded to the author team comprising Viktor Skrobot, Chief Architect of "Belgosproekt", Andrey Petkevich, monumental artist and member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, and Alexander Khramy, Director of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus – for the creation of the museum at the state memorial complex "Khatyn".
The prize laureate also includes Vladimir Likhodedov, freelance author for the "Zvyazda" Publishing House, for the creation and implementation of the historical and educational project "Bat'kaushchyna" and the publication of author's book-albums.
The prize was awarded to Viktor Zakharchenko, General Director of the Krasnodar Krai cultural scientific and creative institution "Kuban Cossack Choir", for the creation of the song cycle "Belarus", "Rus'", "Tseraz rechan'ku".
The Union State Prizes in Literature and Art are awarded once every two years by the Supreme State Council for works of literature and art that make a significant contribution to strengthening the relations of brotherhood, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
