There is still much to be done in the development of bilateral relations between Belarus and Zimbabwe. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, which took place on the sidelines of the World Climate Summit in Baku, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The heads of state coordinated their positions on a number of issues concerning the development of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for joint work on the African continent.

The conversation took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. "Mr. President, I am glad to see you active and cheerful, despite all the problems that exist in our world," Alexander Lukashenko welcomed his counterpart.
"And my compliments to you too. You look great. And younger, of course," the President of Zimbabwe replied.

"Well, perhaps not entirely," Alexander Lukashenko remarked.

"Well, compared to me, Mr. President, you look like a young man," Emmerson Mnangagwa insisted. "I am 82 years old. Therefore, looking at you, Mr. President, I see my very, very young brother."
Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, emphasized that one cannot compare people from the north with those from the south. The latter, the President of Belarus is confident, are much more effective, active, and healthier.

"We are going to live for some time yet, and we still have a lot to do," the Belarusian leader stressed.

The head of state also recalled the idea of expanding cooperation by involving other countries in the region, particularly Mozambique: "I have an idea that we discussed with you some time ago. That we will meet somewhere at your place, invite the President of Mozambique as well, and together build our joint relations. We will arrange for you to have your own ports in Mozambique, and through them, we will cooperate with you more effectively and actively."
