Lukashenko intends to address loan interest rates in the near future

February 22, Minsk /Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko intends to address credit interest rates in the near future. He stated this today while visiting the Minsk Grain Processing Plant, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"We will sort out the issue of credits in the near future. We will look at the cost of these credits," said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarusian banks attract funds from the population at high interest rates, thereby maintaining a high cost of credit, including for legal entities. "Therefore, we need to look into this money. If the population wants to have good dividends for their money, fine, we will take it from them, but let the banks think about where to place this money afterwards," the President said.

"We definitely need to sort this out, and we must address this at a government meeting," the head of state added.-0-
