Lukashenko called the decision to build the third NPP power unit important for strengthening the country's sovereignty

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the workers and veterans of the energy sector on their professional holiday – Energy Worker's Day. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The country's fuel and energy complex is one of the key sectors of the national economy, ensuring the stable operation of domestic enterprises and the functioning of social facilities," the congratulation reads. "Modern, reliable, dynamic energy system enterprises create highly productive jobs and play an important role in the development of cities and regions."

The Head of State noted that the launch of two power units of the Belarusian NPP has strengthened the republic's energy potential more than ever. "The decision to build a third power unit has become a timely and important step towards the further development of Belarus and the strengthening of its sovereignty," the President stated.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that all the achievements of the industry, unique experience and competencies are the result of the daily work of a large and friendly team.

"I am convinced that your professionalism, accumulated knowledge and skills, as well as long-standing labor traditions will be the key to the effective solution of the tasks set," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
