The New Year holidays passed without incident. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the chairmen of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"December and January are always difficult months for authorities. Naturally, New Year holidays, Christmas. People want to rest after hard weekdays and hard working days of the year. This is natural. Not by bread alone," noted the Belarusian leader.
"It seems the holidays passed without incident. We haven't registered any incidents, even in Minsk. People had fun, rejoiced, partly thanks to the weather as well," said the head of state.
