12 June, Minsk /Vladimir Matveev - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko reacted to some negative information being published, stating that improvement works were carried out in Polotsk ahead of his visit. He made relevant statements today during a working trip to Polotsk, a BELTA correspondent reports.

"There are individuals who are concerned that the city had to be 'licked clean' before the President's arrival – streets swept, benches painted… There are such people, a small number of them: everything that is good is bad, and what is bad is also bad," the head of state remarked.

He stressed that everything done will remain for the city's residents. "Having arrived here and seen a clean and tidy city, I will not take it away with me. It will all remain here. Therefore, do not worry, residents of our native Polotsk, we will not take anything away," the President said.
