President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, while receiving credentials from foreign ambassadors, spoke about the prospects for cooperation with Russia, reports BELTA correspondent.
The President noted that Belarus has long-standing and strategic relations with fraternal and friendly Russia.
"There is not a single sphere in which our countries do not have close and strong ties," stated Alexander Lukashenko. He recalled that Russia accounts for about half of Belarus's total foreign trade volume. "Dialogue on deepening our integration is in full swing with the aim of creating equal conditions for economic entities and more effective use of new cooperation opportunities," said the head of state. "I believe that Belarus and Russia have reserves in practically every area. It is from these positions that we look to the future."
"And let our relations with the Russian Federation not cause any tension for anyone," the President continued. He stressed that Belarus and Russia are not building their relations against anyone. "But if anyone dares to challenge us – Russia, or Belarus, or Russia and Belarus simultaneously – you know what our response will be," declared Alexander Lukashenko.
"We have always found mutually beneficial solutions. I am confident that this will be the case now and in the future," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
