President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated tank veterans, servicemen of mechanized units, tank military units of the Armed Forces, and tank repair enterprises of the country on their professional holiday – Tanker's Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"This holiday is a testament to the recognition of the merits of tank forces in the noble cause of serving the Fatherland, a tribute to the feat of tankers of all generations who gave their lives for the Motherland," the congratulatory message reads. The Head of State recalled that it was the tank forces that played a key role 80 years ago in the successful conduct of Operation Bagration, the liberation of the capital, and the final expulsion of the enemy from Belarusian land. "The current generation of tanker warriors sacredly preserves the victorious traditions of the heroic generation of victors, constantly improving their professionalism and tactics for the use of formidable combat vehicles in modern conditions," the President noted. Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that Tanker's Day is also a holiday for engineers, designers, repairmen, and other specialists of the domestic military-industrial complex who ensure that the equipment is kept in constant combat readiness. "I am convinced that the tank units and formations of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus will continue to be a reliable shield for the country and the people against the aspirations of any aggressors, a guarantor of peace and security," the Head of State emphasized.
The President wished everyone good health, peace, well-being, and new military successes in service for the benefit of their native Belarus.
