The Head of State was informed about the progress of spring field work and weather conditions. "Since the soil is dried, work can be done almost everywhere, we need to be more active, we need to spur things on. There is no need to wait," he noted.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Krupko said that in accordance with the sown area structure, spring sowing is planned to be carried out on an area of 2.6 million hectares, including more than 533 thousand hectares in Minsk Region, of which 23.5 thousand hectares are in Smolevichi District. According to him, for the spring sowing of the current year, agricultural organizations of the country are provided with seeds of spring grain and leguminous crops in the amount of 324.5 thousand tons, or 128% of the requirement.
For spring field work, agricultural organizations in the country have 38.8 thousand tractors, including 6.5 thousand high-powered tractors, 1.8 thousand grain drills, and 2.8 thousand combined tillage units.
Ivan Krupko noted that currently all regions have started sowing early spring grain crops, and the pace of work is good. The Minister spoke about the provision of mineral fertilizers, machinery, and fuel.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that spring field work must be carried out quickly. "A decision has been made to work promptly," the President remarked.
