President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has drawn the attention of Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich to the quality and approaches in treating people in district hospitals and announced surprise inspections. The Head of State made this statement while receiving a report from the minister, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"I want to warn you: in the near future, I will establish a mobile group of absolutely independent people, specialists, who will inspect the healthcare system and randomly and unexpectedly check hospitals. And I have invited you here, your deputies, Natalya Ivanovna (Natalya Kochanova. - BELTA's note) has been responsible for healthcare for me since those times, I am not talking about the Vice Premier... Blame yourselves. This is how we will inspect these hospitals," said the Belarusian leader.
In this regard, the Head of State recounted a story about a woman who was initially admitted to a hospital in the Shklovsky district and was on the verge of death. Thanks to the President's intervention, she was saved, and her life is no longer in danger. "In the Shklov hospital, I practically pulled her back from the morgue. Today, she has been disconnected from the ventilator. The dynamics, God willing, are not bad, and let's hope it continues this way," noted Alexander Lukashenko.
"The question arises, Dmitry Leonidovich, have you or your system gone astray a bit, and do you only treat where it is necessary to treat? Or will you treat people as I have always demanded of you? This greatly concerns me. Chiefs, and others like them... You treat here. But simpler people, somewhere in some district hospitals... Well, there is an FAP (Feldsher-Accoucheur Post). A paramedic works there. They give an egg, a hundred grams to drink, as in the old days, I observed this, which is good. If not, then nothing," the Head of State posed the question directly.
