Oman is allocating land to Belarus for the creation of a tourism cluster. This was announced by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during personnel appointments, when discussing new markets and opportunities, using the development of relations with Oman as an example, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"They are allocating land to us to create our own huge tourism cluster there. So that people can fly not only to Turkey and the Emirates. It's literally an hour (an hour longer flight duration than to the UAE. - BELTA note) - and you are there, in the ocean. The open ocean. Here you go, come, work, the door is open. But you need to go, you need to go!" - the head of state noted.
"It is my task to open the door - come in, work. We were hesitant, we didn't see this Oman. They receive us with pleasure. Ports, factories - please, take them, mix potash fertilizers, produce new ones there, sell them. So many directions are opening up!" - emphasized Aleksandr Lukashenko.
He added that the Omani side is ready to implement large-scale projects on the territory of Belarus as well. One of them is the construction of a pulp and paper mill, a memorandum on which was concluded on October 6 following negotiations in Minsk between the President of Belarus and the Sultan of Oman. "This is almost two billion in investments. They will trust us, they are ready to build it here," the President noted.
Earlier, it was reported that the total investment volume for this project would be about $1.4 billion. The enterprise's capacity is expected to be around 800 thousand tons of products per year.
