"This event marked the beginning of the glorious chronicle of Orthodoxy on our native land, signified the cultural and worldview choice of our distant ancestors," the President noted. "Having gone through a centuries-long path of epochal trials and achievements, the Orthodox Church and its holy ascetics have left us examples of spiritual feats in the name of faith, peace, and the preservation of Christian values. This heritage continues to be a moral guide for believers today, a fundamental part of our historical memory, and unites Belarusians with fraternal Slavic peoples."
Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that the high authority, wise, and socially responsible activities of the Belarusian Orthodox Church will always serve to preserve the continuity of original traditions, strengthen national unity, and interfaith harmony for the benefit of the people and for the sake of peace on the holy Belarusian land.
