Lukashenko noted good relations with Kyrgyzstan and proposed finding new points of contact

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan enjoy good relations at all levels, but new points of contact need to be found. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) of Kyrgyzstan, Nurlanbek Shakiev, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) of Kyrgyzstan, Nurlanbek Shakiev, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"We have very good relations across the board. Both at the presidential level and at the government level. You say it, and we will do everything possible to ensure that Kyrgyzstan is not some country in the corner or on the sidelines. It is a very active, very advanced nation. I know the Kyrgyz people well – they are very intelligent. Therefore, we will find new common points of contact. We will work in this direction with you, if you are interested," the Belarusian leader stated.

In 2022, trade turnover between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $160.2 million (an increase of almost 65% compared to 2021). Belarus exports dairy and meat products, woodworking products, tractors, automobiles and other machinery, medicines, insulated wires, and cables.
