President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the personnel and veterans of the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces on their professional holiday – the Day of the Engineering Troops. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Head of State.

"It is noteworthy that this year we are celebrating the 325th anniversary of their formation, emphasizing traditions and continuity with the heroic history of our ancestors," the Belarusian leader noted. "This history has many glorious pages, including examples of unparalleled fortitude and courage of Soviet soldiers on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, the post-war recovery of the country, as well as the truly titanic work of soldiers and officers of the engineering troops in eliminating the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl station."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the engineering troops of Belarus, which are today equipped with the most modern types of weapons and equipment, make a significant contribution to ensuring the military security of the state, solving responsible tasks for the safe operation of military and civilian infrastructure, eliminating the consequences of various emergencies, and defusing explosive objects.

"I wish you, your families and loved ones good health, happiness, well-being, and new successes in creative military service for strengthening the defence capability of the Republic of Belarus," the congratulation reads.
