Lukashenko: Relations with Kazakhstan are at a very high level, but there is room for improvement

Relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan are at a very high level, but there is room for improvement. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

The Head of State noted that this visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations. "We can state today that relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan are at a very high level, but, as athletes say, there is room for improvement," the President said.

According to the President, Belarus is closely observing the transformation process of governance institutions and society in Kazakhstan and, as the saying goes, is taking note of many things. "You are doing the right thing, thereby strengthening both the independence of your state and security, which is important today," said Alexander Lukashenko.

"You should know that Belarus has always been your friend, and you can count on us here if you need to," the Head of State emphasized.

During the meeting, the Belarusian leader also conveyed greetings and warmest wishes to his Kazakh counterpart and good friend Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. "If there is an opportunity, please also convey the warmest wishes to the First President of Kazakhstan, with whom we have worked a lot, Nursultan Abishevich (Nazarbayev. – BELTA’s note)," added Alexander Lukashenko.
