President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with the Governor of Krasnodar Krai of Russia Veniamin Kondratyev, shared details of recent negotiations with President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Sochi, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that serious attention is currently paid to the defence complex in Belarus, driven by recent events in the region and the world. "We, together with our elder brother (referring to the recent negotiations between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia in Sochi. - BELTA's note), have agreed on how we will act in Belarus. Of course, we are not announcing this publicly. Our recent negotiations on your land were dedicated to defence and security," stated the head of state.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of joint actions to reduce the likelihood of escalating challenges and threats: "Ukraine is just the beginning, these are the 'flowers'. The 'berries' may await us ahead if we do not mobilise and show them that they will not get away with it easily. We, and Russia included, are most concerned about Poland, and America stands behind Poland. They have decided to destroy everything that exists here, primarily the European Union. The main foothold is Poland. In 2020, they wanted to incorporate us there, to make us a dividing line between Russia, the East and the West. But it didn't work out. Therefore, we are now paying enormous attention to defence."
