President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 34 "On dismissal to the reserve and conscription for active military service, service in the reserve" on February 9. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The decree provides for the conscription in February-May 2022 for active military service, service in the reserve of male citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription and who do not have the right to deferment from conscription, citizens of conscription age who have lost the right to deferment, as well as for service in the reserve of citizens from among the first-year students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus of agricultural profile, who have the right to deferment from conscription for continuing education and have expressed a desire to undergo such service.
The adoption of the decree will allow republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies to carry out measures for the conscription of citizens for active military service and service in the reserve in a timely manner.
At the same time, the decree provides for the dismissal to the reserve of military personnel of active military service who have served the established terms of military service.
