On July 27, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 227 "On Dismissal to the Reserve and Conscription for Compulsory Military Service, Service in the Reserve," as reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document provides for the conscription in August-November 2023 for compulsory military service and service in the reserve of male citizens of Belarus who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription and who do not have the right to deferment from conscription, and citizens of conscription age who have lost the right to deferment.

The adoption of the decree will enable republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies to timely carry out measures for the conscription of citizens for compulsory military service and service in the reserve.

Concurrently, the decree provides for the dismissal to the reserve of military personnel performing compulsory service who have completed their established terms.
