On 19 September 2017, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed Decree No. 337 "On the Regulation of Activities of Individuals". The document expands the list of economic activities that citizens are entitled to engage in without registering as individual entrepreneurs, provided they pay a single tax, as reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
This list includes activities such as the sale of culinary products made by citizens themselves, the provision of accommodation for short-term stays by individuals, the performance of repair work on furniture, watches and footwear, tailoring, tuning musical instruments, sawing firewood, loading cargo, laying stoves and fireplaces, as well as finishing work and providing web design services, and maintenance of computer and peripheral equipment to citizens. The list also includes interior design, furniture design, clothing and footwear design, graphic design, hairdressing and cosmetic services.
Thus, the list legalises economic activities that are currently actually carried out by individuals at home (e.g., hairdressing services) or can be carried out in such conditions without posing a threat to individual citizens or society as a whole.
The issuance of the decree will create additional conditions for increasing the self-employment of the population, involving them in economic activities, and consequently, will contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in our country.
The main provisions of the document will come into force one month after official publication.
