President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 107 "On the Information System for Exchanging Information on Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons" on March 12. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The decree is adopted to improve approaches to forming a unified migration space based on the common principles of the states parties to the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State. The document is aimed at implementing the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition of visas and other issues related to the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons into the territories of the states parties to the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State.

The decree provides for the creation of an information system for exchanging data on border crossings at checkpoints, issued and seized (revoked) documents for the right of entry and exit (transit), as well as identity documents of foreign citizens and stateless persons within the territory of the Union State.

The functioning of the information system will allow for real-time electronic exchange of information on third-country nationals, which will increase the efficiency and simplify the procedures for interaction between state bodies and organizations in ensuring national and public security.
