President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio on the national holiday – Independence Day. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Your country has all the necessary resources to become one of the leaders of West Africa," the congratulatory message reads. "Belarus confirms its interest in deepening bilateral mutually beneficial contacts in the economic and humanitarian spheres. I am confident that Belarusian agricultural machinery, high-quality food products, medicines, expertise and technologies in ensuring food security and creating relevant industries can serve to improve the well-being of the population and the sustainable development of your state."

The Belarusian side is open to forming a legal framework in the field of education for training personnel in a wide range of specialties for the needs of Sierra Leone.

"I will be glad to meet with you personally in any convenient format to discuss promising areas of joint work," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

He wished the President of Sierra Leone good health and happiness, and the people of this country – peace and prosperity.
