President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is visiting Mogilev Elevator Building Plant OJSC, BelTA reports.
The President will be briefed on the current operations and development prospects of the enterprise, and will be shown samples of manufactured products. The discussion will also cover the socio-economic development of the Mogilev region and the city of Mogilev as a whole.
The Head of State last visited this enterprise on July 22, 2016, during a working trip to the Mogilev region. At that time, he noted that enterprises like "Mogilevliftmash" need to be actively developed. "My main concern is that people are employed, but with one condition: if they want to work. For those who want to work, I am ready to do everything to help them find their workplace. And there are plenty of such jobs and conditions for their creation today," said the Head of State.
In July 2020, the President approved the appointment of a new General Director of "Mogilevliftmash". This was Sergey Chertkov, who previously held the position of Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs. It is noteworthy that Alexander Lukashenko knew well the father of the current General Director, Valery Chertkov, who at one time headed the Mogilev Transport Engineering Plant ("Mogilevtransmash") and was the president of the Mogilev Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. "He was a worthy man. A true Belarusian. I would very much like your work to be successful too," Alexander Lukashenko advised the new head three years ago.
Overall, the enterprise is well-known, and its products are in demand. It is often mentioned, including at the Head of State's meetings with the heads of Russian regions. For example, in April this year, during negotiations with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, the Head of State mentioned the implementation of a lift equipment modernization program in Russia's northern capital and assured that "Mogilevliftmash" would meet the demands, despite the heavy workload and the number of applications from other buyers of lift equipment.
Currently, the production program of Mogilevliftmash OJSC includes about 180 basic models of elevators: passenger, freight, hospital, and cottage elevators of various load capacities. In addition to elevators, the company produces lifts for people with disabilities, escalators and travelators, construction hoists and brushwood chippers (mulchers), as well as consumer goods.
As reported by BELTA on April 30 of the current year, citing General Director Sergey Chertkov, three investment projects are being implemented at Mogilevliftmash.
"For the first quarter, all key performance indicators set by the business plan have been met. Last year, the export growth rate was 150%, and based on the results of the first quarter of 2023, it exceeded 120%. I can say that we look to the future with confidence," emphasized Sergey Chertkov.
One of the investment projects is venture-based and is being implemented with the assistance of the Belarusian Investment Fund. A new modern production of traction electric motors is being created, which are used for trolleybuses and electric buses. The main consumers are MAZ and BKM Holding. Experimental samples of water-cooled electric motors for MAZ have been manufactured.
A new large-scale project for 2024-2026 is being prepared for the modernization and creation of elevator production based on gearless drives. The company's management is confident that this also holds great prospects and future.
