Lukashenko congratulates Asif Ali Zardari on his election as President of Pakistan

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated Asif Ali Zardari on his election to the post of President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"I am convinced that under your effective leadership, the country will remain a guarantor and driver of progress in the Asian region. Over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Belarus and Pakistan have not only achieved a high level of interaction but have also become true partners. I hope that with your support, the Belarusian-Pakistani dialogue will continue to develop successfully in all directions for the benefit of both peoples," the congratulatory message reads.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Asif Ali Zardari good health and fruitful work in his responsible state post, and Pakistan - well-being and peace.
