President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the management, staff, and veterans of the customs service of the Republic of Belarus on their professional holiday – Customs Officer Day. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The economic security and stable development of the Republic of Belarus largely depend on the proper performance of a number of crucial state tasks assigned to the Belarusian customs service," the Head of State noted. "Sustainable replenishment of the republican budget, effective fight against smuggling, and the creation of favourable conditions for the foreign economic activities of domestic enterprises play an important role in maintaining the pace of economic growth in the country."

The President emphasised: "Proactive work, accurate forecasting of the situation, and comprehensive decisions made in response to unfriendly steps by neighbouring states allow us today to protect the domestic market and ensure the uninterrupted operation of our enterprises and transport logistics."

Alexander Lukashenko expressed special gratitude to the veterans, whose accumulated experience and knowledge enable young officers today to effectively perform the tasks assigned to the customs service.

The President wished everyone good health, family well-being, and new achievements for the prosperity of the Republic of Belarus.
