"Your state plays a special role in Europe and the world, making an invaluable contribution to security, the development of humanitarian cooperation and people-to-people contacts. We are grateful to ordinary French people for their sincere hearts, help and warm feelings towards Belarus," the congratulatory message reads.
The head of the Belarusian state recalled that this year both countries are celebrating anniversaries of significant events of the two world wars that destroyed tens of millions of human lives. "We must remember such pages of history to understand the high price our peoples paid for independence. We must be cautious and prudent, striving for changes after someone, so as not to lose more than we gain under this banner," the Belarusian leader noted.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the ancestors of Belarusians and French people were helped to withstand and return to a normal way of life by immense love for their homeland, mutual support, and understanding of each other. "Many Belarusians fought for France, French brothers defended our Belarusian land. We, the heirs of the victors, remember, appreciate, and are proud of this," he emphasized.
The President of Belarus wished the people of France solidarity, confidence in the future, and peaceful skies above their heads.
