President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the personnel and veterans of the transport troops of the Republic of Belarus on their professional holiday - Railway Troops Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Today, Belarus celebrates Railway Troops Day, whose combat path is closely linked with the heroic history of our country," the head of state emphasized. "During the Great Patriotic War, railway soldiers distinguished themselves particularly during Operation Bagration, ensuring the large-scale redeployment of troops, equipment, and the delivery of thousands of tons of cargo. Thus, they made a significant contribution to the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the 80th anniversary of which we celebrated this year."

Alexander Lukashenko stressed: "The glorious traditions of the generation of victors are today preserved and multiplied by the personnel of the transport troops. You successfully solve all the tasks set for strengthening the military security of the state, improving the military logistics system, and developing the country's transport infrastructure. At the same time, high professionalism, responsibility, and loyalty to military duty remain unchanged. May it continue to be so."

The President thanked everyone for their military service and wished them good health, peaceful skies, happiness, well-being, and new successes for the benefit of their native Belarus.
