President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of the Austrian Republic on their national holiday. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"This day is inextricably linked with the idea of state neutrality, which is the foundation of your country's foreign and domestic policy and takes on special significance in these troubled times," the congratulatory message reads.
The Head of State noted that Belarus and Austria are united not only by 30 years of diplomatic relations, the development of economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties, but also by deeper historical contacts. "We well remember the assistance to our children who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster. We positively assess the many years of work of Austrian business in Belarus," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "Today, when they try to divide us and set us against each other, it is more important than ever to preserve and strengthen our relations in all spheres of life. Belarus is ready to continue cooperation with Austria for the benefit of both countries."
On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President wished the Austrians peace, well-being, prosperity, and confidence in the future.
