President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Ntumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa on her election as President of Namibia. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.

The voting results indicate a high level of trust from fellow citizens in the country's development course, pursued by the "South-West Africa People's Organisation" party and Ntumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa personally, the Belarusian leader noted.

In Belarus, according to the President, her official visit in October 2016 as Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia is warmly remembered.

"I am confident that with your knowledge of the Belarusian economy's capabilities, your personal involvement, and extensive political experience, we will be able to elevate interstate dialogue to a qualitatively new level," Alexander Lukashenko emphasised.

The Head of State confirmed interest in transforming the significant potential of bilateral partnership, including in such sectors as industry, agricultural mechanisation, food security, science and education, into joint mutually beneficial projects.

"I will be glad to meet with you to discuss ways to enhance Belarusian-Namibian cooperation," the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Ntumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa good health and success in her responsible state post.
