President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa on his 70th birthday. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Standing up against injustice and the oppression of the weak from a young age, you are a worthy successor to Nelson Mandela," the congratulatory message reads. "Today, thanks to your talent as a leader and your rich experience as a statesman, you are making an invaluable contribution to the development of the Republic of South Africa."

The Head of State confirmed Minsk's interest in expanding political, trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation with Pretoria, based on the principles of mutual trust and equality.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Cyril Ramaphosa good health, longevity, and new successes in his responsible activities for the benefit of the country and its people.
