President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Samia Suluhu Hassan on assuming the post of President of the United Republic of Tanzania. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The slogan of your election campaign "Work and Dignity", its focus on diversifying the economy, modernising industry and agriculture have resonated with the hearts of Tanzanians," the congratulatory message reads.

The President confirmed Belarus's interest in strengthening partnership ties with Dodoma, which was boosted by the first-ever visit of the head of the Tanzanian government to Minsk in July 2025. "Our countries have significant potential for deepening political dialogue and enhancing cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian and other areas," noted the head of state. "Minsk is ready to assist in the implementation of Tanzania's economic and technological development programmes and to offer Belarusian experience in the successful implementation of agricultural mechanisation projects and ensuring food security on the African continent."

The head of state expressed confidence that Samia Suluhu Hassan's further work in her responsible state post will contribute to the expansion of comprehensive Belarusian-Tanzanian relations. Alexander Lukashenko wished his colleague good health, happiness, and the successful realisation of all plans and initiatives.
