President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated To Lam on his election to the post of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The substantial support for your candidacy by the members of the National Assembly is evidence of the recognition of your rich life experience, political competencies, and ability to assume the functions of head of state, make important decisions, and bear responsibility for them. I am confident that you will justify the high trust placed in you by the people, and I hope that in your busy work schedule you will find time for our bilateral contacts," the congratulatory message reads.

Alexander Lukashenko recalled that in December 2023, a government delegation of Belarus, led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, visited the Vietnamese capital. "I will be very grateful for your support and control over the implementation of the agreements reached in the economic sector. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you to the hospitable Belarusian land to assess Belarusian-Vietnamese relations and discuss further steps to maintain the continuity of the course set between Minsk and Hanoi," the President emphasized.
