Lukashenko congratulated the residents of Vitebsk, Gomel, Minsk and Mogilev regions on the 85th anniversary of the formation of the regions

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the residents of Vitebsk, Gomel, Minsk, and Mogilev regions on the 85th anniversary of the formation of these regions, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Vitebsk region, the northernmost region of Belarus, has always been famous for its natural beauty, unique monuments, crafts and artisans, as well as the valour and resilience of its residents during difficult times, as was the case during the Great Patriotic War, the Head of State noted. "In Vitebsk region, they know the price of victory well, they know how to preserve the people's memory, traditions and loyalty to their native land," the congratulation reads. "Thanks to the tireless work of many generations, agriculture is developing, advanced technologies are being mastered, the latest enterprises are being built, production facilities are being modernised, and modern social infrastructure is being created. The grandiose art festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", which strengthens friendship between peoples and gathers thousands of bright talents from all over our planet every year, is known far beyond the borders of Belarus."

In Gomel region, the President emphasised, live skilled, hardworking, courageous people, infinitely devoted to their homeland. "With your persistent creative work, you have transformed a once patriarchal rural area into an industrial region with a high culture, developed science, medicine and education. Together, we have managed to revive part of the lands affected by the Chernobyl disaster and create decent living conditions for people," the Belarusian leader stressed. He noted that Gomel region is the largest in Belarus by territory, it has rich natural and intellectual resources, oil and gas are extracted, pulp and agricultural machinery are produced, and many promising investment projects are being implemented. "There is something to be proud of and something to offer guests," the President is confident.

Addressing the residents of the Minsk Region, Alexander Lukashenko noted that this region is called the heart of Belarus. "It possesses great investment and production potential for development, firmly holding leading positions in agricultural production, successfully developing industry, and implementing large-scale projects in demand of the times, including the "Great Stone" industrial park and the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation," the congratulatory message reads. "The cultural life of the region is multifaceted. The land is famous for its architectural monuments, museums, and vibrant festivals. The Minsk Region has given the world many famous people, including the luminaries of Belarusian literature, the national bards Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas."

In his congratulatory message to the residents of the Mogilev Region, the Head of State emphasized that the history of the Belarusian Dnieper region is literally woven from numerous labor achievements and military victories won by the valor and courage of our ancestors. "Today, in all spheres of production and public life of the Mogilev Region, the necessary conditions have been created for sustainable economic development, improvement of welfare, and quality of life for the people," the President stated. "The region concentrates the main volumes of Belarusian production of chemical fibers, car tires, elevators, and cement, while animal husbandry and fish farming are steadily developing. Organizations in the region are successfully adapting to new requirements dictated by the times. A significant achievement of the past year was the overcoming of the one-million-ton mark by rural workers in the gross grain harvest."

Alexander Lukashenko wished the residents of the regions good health, peace, and well-being.
