President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposes to establish a joint venture in the jewellery sector with the Magadan Oblast. He announced this during a meeting with the Governor of this region of the Russian Federation, Sergey Nosov, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"Belarus has clearly established legislation in the field of assay supervision and circulation of precious metals. We have preserved the 'Kristall' jewellery factory in Gomel since Soviet times. The enterprise has many years of experience working with precious metals and stones. It produces a wide range of products, including jewellery, using Belarusian-cut diamonds," the Head of State noted.
He proposed to explore options for establishing a joint venture at this enterprise using Magadan raw materials.
Sergey Nosov said that during his visit to Belarus, he intends to visit the 'Kristall' factory. He explained that the Magadan Oblast has companies with a full cycle – from geological exploration and gold mining to the production of jewellery. This includes natural nuggets that are used in the manufacture of jewellery. "Cooperation could be of interest to our manufacturers as well," the head of the region explained.
