A good example of intellectual cooperation between Belarusian and Tomsk scientists could be the implementation of a project to produce transistors for aerospace and special purposes. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Governor of the Tomsk region of Russia, Vladimir Mazur, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Today, the Tomsk region is among the top three leaders in Russia's national science and technology ranking, and the city of Tomsk is called the student capital. There are 25 cooperation agreements in place between educational institutions of Belarus and the Tomsk region, and a number of joint research projects are being carried out.
"However, I believe that the potential for interaction in education and science is far from being fully realised. We must competently and rationally utilise each other's highest competencies," the President emphasised. "A good example of such intellectual cooperation could be the implementation by your scientists, together with our National Academy of Sciences and companies, of a project to produce transistors for aerospace and special purposes, which is highly relevant."
