President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has demanded that the government and the National Bank resolve the issue of accounts receivable, primarily for Belarusian potash fertilizers. The Head of State announced this on October 3 at a meeting on the export of Belarusian goods, according to BELTA.
"Regarding the potash market, I would also like to hear about the current situation, especially concerning accounts receivable. Primarily related to the supply of mineral fertilizers and potash fertilizers, in particular," said Alexander Lukashenko.
In Belarus, in addition to potash fertilizers, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers are also produced. In this regard, the Head of State recalled that earlier there were proposals to create a single company to handle their sales. However, the initiative did not progress.
"So the idea drowned in the government. Something is hindering us all. Perhaps not only you, but someone else there too. We need to move forward, move forward, not stand still, and primarily in terms of sales organization," the President emphasized. "We have learned to produce everything, and in huge quantities that do not correspond to the size and economy of our republic. We know how to sell, but some people don't want to, or some other issues are hindering them. Today will be the final discussion regarding the sale of our goods."
"Regarding accounts receivable, as I said, this is the paramount issue. No excuses about payments not going through, or anything else. We have over a thousand (employees. - BELTA note) working in the National Bank and related structures. Therefore, let's work together with the government and start working, if you can. And on this topic, again, there can be no more discussions," stated the Head of State.
