President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko acknowledged the merits of his colleague, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in building the country's independent policy. He stated this during a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Özcan, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We have a great interest in your sovereign independent policy. You resolve issues as the Turkish people need. In this, of course, your President has surpassed, one might say, all expectations of the Turkish people," emphasized the President of Belarus.
"We are ready to do everything for your country to develop. We are not philanthropists. We must also have and do have a corresponding result from this. But we need to resolve the outstanding issues that we have. And we very much hope that in this difficult situation, Turkey will lend us a hand. I would like to discuss a number of issues that we will have to resolve together with you in the near future," said Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting with the ambassador.
