President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, BelTA reports.
In the coming days, the World Climate Change Summit will be held in Dubai under the auspices of the United Nations. The global forum is planned to have broad participation from top officials, with an impressive and representative composition of delegations.
Earlier, the Presidential press service reported that Alexander Lukashenko would present Belarus's approaches and proposals for resolving global issues of climate and environmental security at the summit. On the sidelines of the summit, the head of state will hold a series of meetings and negotiations.
The conference will take place almost eight years after the conclusion of the Paris Agreement and halfway through the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
As follows from UN reports, the world has not achieved the goals of the Paris Agreement, but there is hope that world leaders will create a roadmap at the summit to accelerate action to combat climate change.
