President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko invited the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Russia, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, for a meeting. It took place on November 25 at the Palace of Independence, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"Venezuela is not a foreign country to Belarus. We have been cooperating with you for a very long time. We would like our relations to be more intensive and advanced. There is something to talk about," the head of state stated during his conversation with the diplomat.
During the conversation, the President made a request to the ambassador: "I kindly ask you to convey to my friend Nicolás Maduro that we are always waiting for him in Belarus. It is time for him to visit here, in Belarus."
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the President of Venezuela might have similar expectations, and therefore did not rule out his own visit to Venezuela. "I am convinced that he has the same attitude towards me. I will make every effort to find time and visit Venezuela. These are troubled, complex, and difficult times. However, there is always a way out of any situation, one just needs to strive for it. You understand this no worse than I do," the Belarusian leader stated.
