President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at a narrow-format meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State, invited representatives of CIS countries to the Minsk High-Level Conference on Eurasian Security, BelTA reports.
"We look forward to the active participation of your representatives in the upcoming third Minsk High-Level Conference on Eurasian Security at the end of October," the President addressed his CIS colleagues. "Esteemed Heads of State, I would very much ask you to send high-level representatives to this conference."
"We talk a lot about the fact that we have the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. But at the level of Heads of State, when did we gather? When did we discuss security issues? When could we, looking each other in the eye, say what we think?" the Belarusian leader asked rhetorical questions.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the Minsk High-Level Conference on Eurasian Security can contribute to such an open dialogue.
The III Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security will be held on October 28-29. Political figures, experts, and analysts representing more than 30 countries are expected to participate.
