A CSTO summit will be held in Moscow today. The leaders' meeting is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the organisation's establishment. The heads of state will exchange views on current issues of the situation in the region and the world, and discuss joint response measures to emerging challenges and threats.

It is expected that the CSTO leaders will adopt a joint statement in connection with the anniversary dates and a decision on awarding participants of the peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan.

Following the summit, Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled for bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. One of the main topics of discussion will be issues of developing cooperation and joint work on import substitution.
