Lukashenko received Rumas with a report

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received Prime Minister Sergei Rumas with a report today, BelTA correspondent reports.

The Head of State first inquired about the results of the economy's performance for the first four months of the current year. "We analyzed the first quarter. April, understandably, due to certain circumstances, and very serious ones for our export-oriented economy, was not easy. Therefore, I would like to see the result of these four months in the first approximation and the main trends that primarily concern us," the President said.

Alexander Lukashenko also inquired about the situation regarding the state debt. "What is the situation, what do we see, how will we settle the debts?" he outlined the question.

"The third topic is the IMF. I instructed the government to primarily deal with these issues. And also other international banking organizations that are not against financing us at this time, including for healthcare," the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko also focused on another important practical issue - the price of Russian natural gas supplied to Belarus. "Yesterday I received information that Russia sells natural gas in Europe at this difficult time for up to $70: $65-68, but not $127, as for Belarus. What is the situation and circumstances here, what can we count on in the future? I raised this issue at a video conference within the EAEU, and in the near future we will have a conference in the same format. I would like to know what has been done so far to reduce the price of natural gas for Belarus," the President said. - It's not right, I'm not even talking about the 75th anniversary year (of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. - BelTA's note) that they sell natural gas to Germany for up to $70, according to my information (it varied there), but not $127, as for Belarus."
