The Telegram channel "Pool of the First" specifies that the meeting is taking place outside the city. Several joint photographs of the Belarusian leader with Igor Dodon have been published.
It is noteworthy that from May 5 to 7, a delegation of the Parliament of Moldova is visiting Belarus. Meetings are planned at the National Assembly and the Government. The official opening of a bust-monument to the Moldovan soldier, Hero of the Soviet Union Ion Soltys, installed in Minsk at the intersection of Soltys and Vauchapsava streets, will also take place. The delegation will also visit the Khatyn memorial complex and participate in the laying of a capsule with soil from the burial sites of Moldovan soldiers who died liberating Belarus, in the crypt of the Church-Monument in honor of All Saints.
In 2020, the trade turnover between Belarus and Moldova amounted to $204.1 million, decreasing by 9.4% compared to 2019 due to the pandemic. The balance is positive - $61.1 million. In January-February 2021, trade increased to $33.8 million, which is 123.5% of the level of the same period in 2020. The main export items are petroleum products, trolleybuses, tractors, medicines, fiberglass, and plastic sheets and films. Grape wines, strong alcoholic beverages, corn, fresh and canned fruits and vegetables, carpets, and floor coverings are imported from Moldova.
There are 23 enterprises with Moldovan capital operating in Belarus, including 7 joint and 16 foreign organizations. More than 60 representative offices, TPS entities, and distributors of Belarusian enterprises operate in Moldova, with 3 assembly plants (trolleybuses "Belkommunmash", tractors from Smorgon Aggregate Plant and Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units are assembled).
